I still don't know why they changed it ... now every time you get salvage of something you use ... you'll never actually use it unless you go in and individually restock x amount of everything else in every other fitting that uses what you salvaged.
Terrible idea ... Either give us that system back or at least give us the option ... "Buy x number of this fitting" or "Restock to a total of x fittings"
Edit : I remember now, it was to do with having multiple fittings using the same item ... restocking to 10 would give you 10 GEKs but if you used another fitting that had a GEK you wouldn't have 10 of this fitting anymore cos a GEK had gone ... the ideal fix would tag items to a fitting so restocking the other fitting to 10 wouldn't count those 10 GEKs as useable for this fitting so it would have to buy 10 more knowing that they were tagged for a different fitting. |

/me injects this thread with nanites ...
Now that you're deciding on stuff to work on for the New Year ... is this an easy task, to give us the options when we restock ... either 'buy x number' or 'stock x number' of a fitting. |

Nobody said it was a priority ... and Yes, that is what I think needs dev time ... IF that time is 1 dev for an afternoon. The code may well still be there from when it worked this way before and adding an option in the UI to call that code rather than the new code COULD literally be an afternoons work for 1 dev.
It's about making a polished UI that lets YOU decide how you manage things. If you're not interested in using it you don't have to, you can be one of those that gets a game, tears open the box, rips out the CD, throws the box across the room, jams the CD in and mashes the start and X buttons until you can start shooting people.
As I said ... "is this an easy task" |
